"Love Hotels", the pleasure hotels

"Love Hotels" are popular short-stay hotels, for the apparently purpose of allowing couples privacy for spending love renting a room by hours or by overnight stay. They actually are frequented for sexual activities. These hotels can now be found around the world, but most of all in Asia. Originated in Japan, are now also spreaded everywhere in South Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong.

They include themed rooms, such as dungeons, castles, classrooms, space ships, sport venues, fairy tail landscapes, and many more original patterns. The most popular establishments feature luxury facilities such as Jacuzzis, mood lighting, or even videogames and karaoke.

These places are usually frequented by business men who are about to play their fantasies with a mistress, from people who are having affairs or who are going to finish a night after met in nightclub, from young lovers who lives with their parents, from couples of all ages who are celebrating a special event; but they are frequently used as locations for porno film shoots.

Love hotels are a potential source of cheap accommodation during a regular stay. Most establishments will accept single guests of either sex though many draw the line at same sex couples.

It is also a perfect alternativies to regular hotels, if travel with partner.

There are about 25000 love hotels in Japan only and they can be found wherever there is a dense-populated area, particulary if in the area there are nightclubs.

The costs are pretty cheap, but they vary by the location and the room choice.

Something to keep in mind is:

book ahead for themed rooms as it is very hard to get the room of your dreams.
once you get out of the room, you can not get in anymore, as long as you will pay once again
never go with a gang. You will almost certainly be turned away if you come in with a large group of people. The staff doesn’t want to deal with parties
