Beijing is the huge capital of China, located in the Nortern East of the country has a populoation over 20 000 000 people making itself the 10th most populous city in the world and the financial center of the republic with great economic development.
The city has hosted the 2008 Summer Olympics and was chosen to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, which will make it the first city ever to host both events.
This metropolis faces some issue with the environment making the air pollution the worst enemy to defeat, since is raising high percentage year after year, in fact in order to improve and further protect the environment, the government have decorated the city with many green areas in and around the town.
Being transport hub, with a sophisticated network of roads, high speed railways, a major airport (approachable with the "Airport Express" for 25 CNY). Bus and Subway are very easy and cheap solutions (2 CNY for a journey on one line). It is reccomended to drive as less as possible because is very natural to be incumbent in traffic congestions.
Peking Roast Duck is the best known dish. Fuling Jiabing, a traditional snack food, a pancake made with a fungus used in traditional Chinese medicine. Teahouses are common in Beijing.
The best sights you can visit are many, easy to be reached and also economic friendly.
Beijing has a history that goes over 3 000 years, with 7 UNESCO sites, it is full of attractions and areas that recall the ancient ages that this city has lived.
