Hainan is a tropical island located in the southermost east of China in the Pacific Ocean. Hainan is the largest island and the smallest province of China.

There are many major cities in the province, the capital is Haikou City on the norther coast of the island while Sanya is the tourist's most favorite city. There are several mini islands around the coast that belong to the province.

Known also as "Chinese Hawaii", Hainan has a tropical climate with hot summer and mild winter making the sea enjoyable at anytime during the year. The high quality air, many clear beaches, beautiful scenaries, unique festivals, and loads of fun alternated with relax time make this location the Chinese main holiday destination.

Today the province is focusing on investing in international tourism boosting and improving the quality of the island, more and more hotels and resorts are in phase of development.

There are 2 airports in Hainan with regular flights, in Haikou in the north and in Sanya in the south, and all the centres are well connected with each other with high-speed railways where you can easily get around the island in cheap and short time fares.

The island is rich of tropical fruits, especially coconuts, but also bananas, lychees, papayas and pinapples, and being located in the ocean, of course the main food is seafood. The most famous four local specialties are Hele Crab, Dongshan Mutton, Jiaji Duck and Wenchang Chicken.

Having a flat landscape, Hainan is an ideal destination for long journey cycling trip, as well to escape the hot humidity of the public transportations.

Other major interesting activities in this area are swimming or diving in the crystal sea, water sports, beach volley, sunbathe, exploring islands, drinking on beach bars, boat or beach parties, joining some of the several festivals and events that take part in the island very often. 

There are many attractions and destinations located all around the island and it is very easy to spot them from almost everywhere in Hainan.
